Mothers Day Gift Ideas for You or the Special Mother in your Life
Maman Cookie & Necklace Gift Set
The Cookie and Necklace Gift Set from Maman has been on my list since Christmas. And now it’s on my Mother’s Day Gift list, especially the cookies. For me, the cookies are enough! But it’s Mother’s Day, so let’s spring for the necklace too! These cookies were on Oprah’s Favorite Things list last Christmas. The chocolate chip cookies include macadamias, almonds and walnuts. They are baked fresh and shipped overnight to your doorstep. Yum!
The necklace says “maman” (mother in French). They are handcrafted in New York City and come in silver, gold and rose gold plating.
I want!
Beginners Calligraphy Class at Maman
Now this is a non-traditional and very creative Mother’s Day gift idea for the creative Mama in your life.
Maman has a recurring workshop called Calligraphy & Canapés Beginner Workshop. I’m dying to go. Can you tell I love this company? Their stores are the cutest and their food is delish! Maman often hosts events and workshops where they serve you some of their lovely food while you learn something new. What’s not to love?
This particular workshop is small and intimate. You’ll learn the art of modern calligraphy using pen and nib & ink techniques. Canapés and light bites are included in the event. And you get to take your new pen and other things home! It’s the perfect Mother’s Day gift.
I’ve been dying to try this but haven’t because (1) It’s a bit pricey at $85 per person and (2) I don’t want to do it alone and can’t think of anyone who would be interested in it enough (like me) to pay $85. But I’m really close to going it alone. I’ve been eyeing these kinds of events for months now. Perhaps, if it came as one of my Mother’s Day gifts… *cough* Rick *cough* I’d be brave enough to go it alone.
Gracelaced: Discovering Timeless Truths Through Seasons
Now this book, I already have and love! The author Ruth Chou Simons isn’t just a writer but a painter and speaker. She paints beautiful things and has spoken words of truth about the Lord, motherhood and life that have brought me out of dark places.
It’s the perfect Mother’s Day gift for any mom!
In this book she takes you through the seasons and gleams wonderful insights into how we can find God in each one. It’s so rich, and so wonderfully beautiful.
Garden of Truth
This is a book also written and painted by Ruth Chou Simons. I just got it as a present to myself, just because. And since I had been so encouraged by Ruth’s words in the past, I knew that this would be the type of book that would be a wonderful blessing to me time and again.
It is 58 specially selected scriptures with heartfelt truth to direct your thoughts to your Savior. There are reminders of God’s character and presence in each entry encouraging you to trust in His word.
Farmgirl Flowers
If you know me, you know I love baked goods and flowers. You give me any of those things, and we will be instant BFF’s. So why not 1-800-Flowers? Visit Farmgirl Flowers website and you will see how lush, full and beautifully wrapped these flowers come. There’s so much to be said for a gift that has been packaged in such a way that you know it was packaged with lots of love and care.
Boho Berry Box Subscription
I recently discovered Bullet Journaling and have truly enjoyed the slow, intentional and deliberate process of planning my days. I especially love how creative I get to be while working in my bullet journal.
Most of what I learned about bullet journaling I learned from Boho Berry herself, Kara Powell. She is super sweet, majorly talented and amazingly gifted. I’ve learned so much from her and am inspired by her journey.
She started a subscription box service in which she sends exclusive stickers and designs from Boho Berry, as well as stationary, pens, pencils, markers and other things from other creative journaling brands. It is a paid monthly subscription box that I get excited about every month. I think you will love it too!
Magnolia Table: A Collection of Recipes for Gathering
I chose this one because… Joanna Gaines.
No, but seriously, I LOVE her design aesthetic and love her work. And… I love food. When I heard she was coming out with a cookbook I had to add it to my “get it list”. So, if I don’t get it this Mother’s Day, you betcha I’m going to get for the holiday, “Day After Mother’s Day.” It is gonna be a thing soon… you’ll see!
If you have a mom in your life who loves to cook. Or even loves to look at the pages while she imagines herself cooking, this is the Mother’s Day gift for her!
Stitch Fix
If I’m being honest, I have a love-hate relationship with shopping. I love the feeling of finding new threads that fit well and are just my style. But I hate the shopping process of trying things on, waiting on line and such. It’s just not my cup of tea. So I decided to give Stitch Fix a try and was so excited when I got my first box. There were some things in my box that I never would have picked for myself but ended up loving! It’s so easy and super convenient.
With this as a Mother’s Day gift it just might be the extra special thing you need to spruce up your wardrobe and reflect the fabulous mama you are on the outside too!
Happy Mother’s Day!
I hope you found some Mother’s Day gifts that inspire you to create and find joy and beauty in the little things as you celebrate another year of motherhood. It is hands down, THE HARDEST job on the planet. And you are rockin’ it. Even if it feels like you’re not. You so are. So celebrate it all—the easy, the hard, the pretty, and the not so pretty parts. It’s all a part of your journey and story, and there is beauty to be found in it.
What are some things you’d put on your Mother’s Day wishlist?
Nice work as per usual.
